WOW!
Slumdog Millionaire truly deserved the Oscars. It was a brilliant film and i just couldnt help but rejoice at its glory at the oscars. A film that no-one ever thought would come this distance has won eight Oscars!. Kudos to the Slumdog team.
Wasnt it amazing to see a film, that was supposedly a Britsh movie, proclaimed by the Indians. as theirs?. No complaints there actually, half the crew was Indian. I mean you know the Indians just love to take all the credit of an international phenomenan if the subject is purely Indian or even if there is just that remote Indian connection somewhere.
Take for example the case of Sunita Williams: Whats her nationality? American. Where does she live? America. Where was she born? America. Where did she study? America. Then how on earth can you call her "Bharat ki Pari Anthriksh mein".(Indian angel in space).
The Indians just love it if there's an Indian link to something that's creating a buzz across the world. If the theme of an event somewhere in the west is Indian, its headlines in India.
Another example, Bobby Jindal the governer of some state in the US. Indians call him the pride of punjab, etc.
Helen Mirren wore a sari. So what? Its her choice. Dont go around saying she has Indian roots and blah blah blah...
Would the people in the west care if tomorrow Akshay Kumar sports a cowboy-hat?
Think it over.
